Membership Categories
You can support TACAA's efforts on behalf of Community Action in Texas by joining the Association. TACAA has four membership levels, CORPORATE, ASSOCIATE, AFFILIATE, and INDIVIDUAL. Only designated Community Action Agencies in Texas are eligible for CORPORATE memberships. For-profit entities make up the ASSOCIATE membership level. Other non-profit organizations can be AFFILIATE members. Anyone can join the organization at the INDIVIDUAL level.
In accordance with the Bylaws of the Texas Association of Community Action Agencies, Inc. (TACAA), Corporate membership shall be open to any public or private Community Action Agency designees of Community Services Administration prior to September 30, 1980.
Our mission statement is: "TACAA is a private nonprofit corporation created to provide a unified voice for Community Action Agencies in advocacy, policy, programmatic and legislative issues affecting families and communities of the State of Texas."
Corporate membership contributes to the existence of a state association office and staff to advocate for CAAs and their programs in Texas. Benefits include:
The Texas Association of Community Action Agencies, Inc. (TACAA) accepts Affiliate Membership from non-profit organizations with similar purposes and mutual concerns with human service programs which are compatible with the goals and objectives of the Association.
Affiliate Member agencies will receive TACAA's newsletter, TACAA Talk, membership registration rate to conferences, exhibit space at cost during annual conferences, the opportunity to address the Board of Directors and information on mutual initiatives and/or concerns.
TACAA's membership year is January 1 to December 31. Annual dues for Affiliate Membership are $375.00. In accordance with TACAA Bylaws, application for Affiliate Membership must be submitted annually from new and current members. Organizations requesting Affiliate Membership status must seek the endorsement of the CAA in their service area. Exchange of gratis membership with non-profit statewide advocacy organizations will be presented tot he Board of Directors for acceptance. All applications will be reviewed by the TACAA Membership Committee, and then submitted to the TACAA Board of Directors for acceptance.
To initiate the approval process, complete an application form and mail it along with the dues to the TACAA office at 2512 I.H. 35 South, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78704-5721. E-mail the TACAA office at to request an application at tacaa@tacaa.org.

The Texas Association of Community Action Agencies, Inc. (TACAA) accepts Individual membership from any person interested in the mission of Community Action. This includes, but is not limited to, employees, board members, colleagues and friends of Corporate, Affiliate and Associate member organizations. Individual memberships are accepted when submitted by a CAA.
NOTE: In accordance with TACAA Bylaws, current Corporate and Individual Membership is required from any person elected or appointed to any TACAA office, committee, sectional office or to the Board of Directors. Individual Membership is required from the Executive Director as well as Corporate Membership in order to exercise voting privileges with the TACAA Board of Directors.
